Aaron Roger Sandon, 26
Aaron Roger Sandon, 26, of Helena died at his home May 31, 2006. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Aaron was born July 31, 1979, in Helena, to Rhonda (Candler) and Roger Israel Sandon. He was baptized at the Cathedral of St. Helena. Aaron attended Four Georgians Elementary School, Helena Middle School and Helena High for his freshman year. During this time he participated in many activities such as football, band, track and was a Cub Scout. In 1995 he moved with his parents to Kalispell and attended Flathead High School, graduating from there in 1998.
Then in the fall of 1998 he started studying civil engineering at Carroll College. He truly loved the people of Carroll College, who offered a second family to Aaron. In September 1999, Aaron met the love of his life, Misti Dawn Hamner. After a short courtship, they got married at the Hitchin Post in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
In May of 2003 Aaron graduated from Carroll College, reaching his dream of becoming a college graduate. Soon after, he was hired as traffic engineer at the Montana Department of Transportation. He truly enjoyed what he did and the people that surrounded him at his work.
Aaron became a proud daddy on June 9, 2004. He loved his little girl, Kayci. They loved to throw the football together (he loved her awesome spiral), playing Nintendo and hanging out on Saturday mornings. Kayci was definitely a daddy's girl.
Then on Sept. 11, 2005, Aaron welcomed his son, Rhys, into the world. Aaron treasured every moment they spent together whether it was cuddling, eating or 'talking.' Aaron was especially proud that his Rysie Piecey was learning to crawl. Aaron cherished his wife, children, family and friends very much.
Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Roger Sandon, and grandparents, Arthur and Faye Sandon and Gilbert and Mary Candler.
Aaron is survived by his wife of almost six years, Misti Dawn (Hamner) Sandon; daughter, Kayci Dawn Sandon (2 years old), son, Rhys Aaron Sandon (9 months); his mother, Rhonda Dominick, stepfather, Raymond Dominick; sister, Gina Sandon, niece, Eponine; sister Marisa Christensen, her husband, Ryan, niece, Maraya; stepbrother, Yancy Dominick, his wife, Emily, and stepsister, Merrica Dominick. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lori Hamner; father-in-law John Hamner; brother-in-law, Arik Hamner; sister-in-law, Kari Hamner; nephews, Zachary Hamner and Tyler Hamner; nieces, Savannah VanValkenburgh and Kaylee Tannehill; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Aaron's strong belief in a college education and his good spirit helped inspire his wife Misti and sister Gina to seek degrees and not give up. Because of this strong belief in a college education, the family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the memorial education fund set up in the names Kayci Dawn Sandon and Rhys Aaron Sandon and can be sent in care of Helena Community Credit Union, P.O. Box 159, Helena, MT 59624.
Come join the family and friends at a social gathering to share thoughts, stories and remembrances of Aaron's life at 7 p.m. Monday, June 5, at the Retz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the Cathedral of St. Helena. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
