Summer carnival

A Summer Carnival fundraiser for Montana All-star Cheerleaders in conjunction with Kalispell Parks and Recreation is planned for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., today at Woodland Park.

Games, a cake walk, a 50/50 raffle, and pizza and cotton candy will be available.

Fitness for moms

Stroller Strides, a fitness program for mothers with babies, is hosting a new season grand opening today at noon at Lawrence Park in Kalispell.

Gardening workshop

The Montana Woman Foundation and Amy Grisak offer a Gardening Gourmet Workshop at 1 p.m. today at the Montana Woman Complex, 1103 S. Main St., Kalispell.

This is a fundraising event for the Montana Woman Scholarship fund.

Grisak will discuss timetables for planting, including a few crops people can still put in during early summer, and how to extend the harvest in spite of cold weather.

Learn how to grow and use fresh herbs and edible flowers, and go home with a few plants to grow. The cost is $15. Call 755-5753.

Taste of Kalispell

Come enjoy the Taste of Kalispell today from 5 to 8 p.m., under the big tent just south of the KM Building. Families are welcome. All proceeds benefit the Nurturing Center.

Delicious food fare from more than 15 area eateries will be available.

The Latin Jazz band Cocinando and Tropical Marimba Band will perform.

Raffle tickets for professional football gear signed by NFL players will be for sale for $1.

Breakfast at the mall

Whitefish Mountain Mall and the Alcohol Enforcement Team sponsor a "Breakfast at the Mall," fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon today. The menu includes huckleberry pancakes, sausage and beverages for $4. Children 6 and under eat free.

Tickets are available at the door.

After breakfast take the kids to the annual Kids Fishing Derby from 8 a.m. to noon at the Mountain Mall pond. Prizes will be handed out for children 12 and under. The event is free.

Trail dedication

The new segment of Fish Trails - the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Bike Loop - will be dedicated from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in Whitefish. Bring your bikes and family to the trail at Railway Street between Lupfer and O'Brien Avenues.

Join the decorated bike parade and enjoy food plus raffles for merchandise, including a Custom Cruiser bike, plane ride over the Flathead, lift tickets to Big Mountain, Wave passes and more.

Locks of Love

Reecia's Salon, 110 Lupfer Ave. in Whitefish, sponsors a fundraiser today for Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that makes and provides wigs free of charge for children who have lost their hair due to cancer and other illnesses.

Haircuts will be $15 with proceeds going to Locks of Love. Hair must be at least 10 inches in length and free of recent chemical processing. Call 863-9900.

Fire fundraiser

Marion Volunteer Fire Department is having a fundraiser auction today at 3 p.m., and a barbecue at 5 p.m. at 180 Gopher Lane, Marion. Follow the signs.
