Elsie May Robinson, 88

Elsie May Robinson passed away peacefully on the morning of June 7, 2006, at her home in Whitefish of natural causes.

She was born in Westhope, N.D., on June 2, 1918, and was the oldest of 10 children. The Livesay family moved to Montana, where Elsie met and married Alvin Robinson.

She helped run the family sawmill in Fortine, and later the Robinsons relocated to Whitefish. After raising their four children, she traveled with Alvin on the railroad.

After his retirement they traveled to Arizona in the winter and spent some time fishing and camping with their grandchildren in the summers. The grandchildren were a special part of their lives.

Elsie was a long-standing member of the Whitefish Moose Lodge. She loved bingo and was a member of the Bingo Babes.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, in August 1992.

She is survived by a sister, Helen Forschen of Minot, N.D.; a brother, Ted and Nancy Livesay in Garrison, N.D.; her sons, John and Geraldine and Harold and Linda; her daughters, Elsie and Ray and Alta and Dan; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tribute Fund of Northwest Healthcare Foundation Home Options Hospice, 175 Commons Loop #100, Kalispell, MT 59901 in the name of Elsie May Robinson.
