Rainy weather Friday night and early Saturday forced auto racing and American Legion baseball to postpone events and reschedule them for today.

The Canadian American Shootout 150 was originally scheduled for Saturday night at Montana Raceway Park. That event will now take place today.

The pit gate will open at 9 a.m. and the main gate at 11.

Time trials are at noon with racing at 1 p.m.

Raceway officials decided 1 p.m. Saturday to delay the race one day.

"It's still misting up there," said Michelle Siderius of Montana Raceway Park late Saturday afternoon.

"With all the out-of-town cars and people calling, we needed to try and get this show in."

Today's race will feature the Super Late Models competing for a purse in excess of $10,000. The main event is a 150-lap race.

"If it's great weather, we'll go on with the show (as planned)," said Siderius.

"But if it's threatening weather, the main event will go first."

Weather has already forced the raceway to cancel two race dates this spring.

The last time auto racing was held on Sunday was last year for the Montana 200.

"It was awesome," said Siderius of that race.

"We filled the stands. It was beautiful."

Also racing today will be the Flathead Legends, Bombers and Bandoleros.

"It's going to be a great show," said Siderius.

"A premier to the (Montana) 200 (in July). A lot of guys here are getting a little track time, building up for the 200."

The Glacier Twins and Great Falls Electrics will try again today to get a Class AA doubleheader in at 1 p.m. at Memorial Field. Two seven-inning games are on tap.
