Lakers swept by Electrics

GREAT FALLS - It was a tough Tuesday for Kalispell's Class AA American Legion baseball team.

The Great Falls Electrics swept the Lakers in a Western AA doubleheader, 5-3 and 11-2.

The Lakers dropped to 3-4 in Western AA play. They travel to Canada for Western AA games against Lethbridge and Medicine Hat this weekend.

The Electrics improved to 5-3 in Western AA play. They swept Glacier on Sunday.

Kalispell's John White and Great Falls' Tyler Fayden locked into a pitchers' duel and both pitched complete games.

Ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, White gave up three runs to lose the lead. The Electrics added two more runs in the fifth inning before Kalispell closed the scoring with one in the sixth inning.

Fayden, the Electrics cleanup hitter as well, had two hits along with Zach Semenza and Levi Johnson. Johnson and No. 9 hitter Ryan Beecroft each had two RBIs.

The Lakers were led by No. 3 hitter Jake Fitzsimmons, who took a game off at the catcher position. Fitzsimmons went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

No pitching information was reported.

Once again, it was a one-man show for the Electrics.

Great Falls pitcher Shaun Tatarka, who was voted The Montana Standard's MVP of the Class AA basketball tournament in February, pitched a complete-game victory and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs from the plate.

The teams combined for 10 errors in the game. Kalispell comitted six after committing just one in the first game.

The Electrics pounded out 14 hits off of Tyler Reichhoff and Geoff Hogan.

Semenza followed Tatarka with a 3-for-4 performance and three RBIs.

The Lakers were paced by Zac Ford from the plate. He went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
