Prosecution rests its case against suspected sex abuser

In profane and emotional testimony, Darwin Berosik Wednesday denied having sex with three underage girls.
"I didn't hurt those [expletive] kids," he said.
He is accused of coercing the teenagers into having sex with him. According to prosecutors, he threatened to get them into trouble if they refused him.
Berosik, 39, said he believes the girls and the woman who contacted police about their accusations are conspiring against him.
Berosik is a long-haul driver, who was out of state when he heard that he was accused of sexually assaulting the girls. He drove back to Kalispell and turned himself in.
Asked by his attorney, Lane Bennett, if he is innocent, Berosik said, "Yes. Damn right I am. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.
"If I'd done this [expletive], I'd be in Tijuana."
He disputed a friend's testimony that Berosik said he had seen one of the girls naked and couldn't get her out of his mind. Another witness said Berosik told him he wished to see two of the girls engaged in sex together.
"That is an absolute lie," he said.
He also called Flathead County Sheriff's Office detective Glen Fulton "a [expletive] liar."
The jury is not allowed to know that Berosik allegedly gave pornography to the girls as a way of preparing them for having sex with him.
Prosecutors rested their case Wednesday against Berosik.
After he testified and the jury was dismissed, Berosik was taken into custody and jailed. He had been out on $90,000 bond. However, his bail bondsman revoked the bond Wednesday afternoon. No reason was given for the revocation.
District Judge Stewart Stadler said the court is not involved in the private relationship between a defendant and a bondsman.
Berosik was to be back in court this morning for the conclusion of testimony.
A Flathead County jury will begin deliberating after Stadler gives them instructions and Bennett and Deputy County Attorney Tammi Fisher make closing statements.
If convicted of one of the charges against him, Berosik could spend the rest of his life in jail.
