A mystery was solved Friday

after a woman on Goodrich Road told the Flathead County Sheriff's Office that her cat came home, partially shaved and marked with an X on Thursday. A spokeswoman for the spay and neuter clinic said the cat was spayed a few weeks ago. The animals are tattooed after they are sterilized so future owners know the cats don't need the surgery.

A man reportedly purloined the birth certificates and Social Security cards of his children as a way to avoid paying child support. That doesn't work.

A rape report is under investigation.

A tenant in the process of being evicted allegedly removed a hot tub from a home. This reportedly involved also removing part of a wall.

There are suspects in the thefts of video games and CDs on Maple Drive, pills on Eid Lane, and two diamonds in Kila.

A deputy had some safety advice for boys who pointed a toy gun at vehicles driving past the Rainbow bar.

Domestic problems were reported on Haskill Basin Road and Dancing Bear Lane. One person was arrested after a domestic dispute in Hungry Horse.

A witness reported seeing someone in a car menacing a tied-up passenger with a knife near Columbia Falls. Deputies tracked down the alleged victim and found that he was fine.

Cars on Collier Lane were hit with eggs twice in two days. A report of a chicken-killing dog was unrelated. Tires on Bear Trail were slashed three times in two days.

No one was hurt when a car went over the bank on Sunnyside Drive.

Someone is using a woman's credit card without her permission.
