Letitia Ann Tish Miller, 71
Letitia Ann "Tish" Miller "went home to be with her Lord" on April 20, 2006, in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Letitia was born Jan 17, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Margaret and Andrew Jamison. She received her formal education in Barnigat, N.J., and a registered nurse degree from Englewood Hospital in New Jersey.
She married her high school sweetheart, Harold "Dusty" Miller on April 14, 1956, in Shipbottom, N.J. They have four children.
She worked as a public health and a hospital nurse at the building of a nuclear plant in New Jersey.
The family moved to Swan Lake in 1966. She again did part time home health before becoming the nurse at the Swan River Correctional Training Center for the next 27 years.
Tish belonged to the Swan Lake Women's Club and was named Citizen of the Year in 1989. She was a longtime and active member of Swan Chapel and took an active part in the Swan Lake Library.
They enjoyed seven years wintering in Arizona.
Tish had a great love for her Lord and relied on his strength to get her through a long battle with cancer.
Tish had a very giving and loving nature. Many times she would come home from chemotherapy asking her friends to pray for those she saw that were worse off then she, especially the younger women.
She was very active in her community and always a volunteer. She was called on many times in the community for her nursing skills, was an avid reader and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dusty, at the family home; and four children, daughters, Debra Smith and husband, David, of Phoenix, Eileen Wilcox of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Lois Stenberg of Sioux Falls, S.D.; son, Ken Miller, and wife, Cyndy, of Phoenix; five grandchildren, David Bruns, Dustin Wilcox, Lacy Mooney, Andrew Miller, Michael Stenberg and Jasmin Stenberg.
Tish left her family and friends with heavy but joyful hearts in knowing her suffering is over and "she is home with her Lord."
A celebration of Tish's life will be held at 11 a.m. on June 24, at the Swan Chapel in Swan Lake. Pastor Ron Pierce will officiate.
