A Kalispell woman is charged in the highway accident in April that killed her sister and a motorcyclist.
Genevieve Baker, 48, is charged with two counts of negligent homicide in the deaths.
According to court records filed by County Attorney Ed Corrigan, her blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was .21 - more than twice the legal limit.
Baker was driving south on U.S. 2 near the airport at about 3:30 p.m. April 29, when she reportedly passed a vehicle and drove into the northbound lane. She skidded into the path of William Haller Jr.'s motorcycle. The 25-year-old man crashed into the rear of Baker's car, dying instantly.
Baker's vehicle rolled into a ditch, landing upside down. Her sister, Georgia Johnston, 46, of Seattle, also died on impact.
Baker was critically hurt in the accident. She since has been released from the hospital.
If convicted on both charges, Baker faces as long as 20 years in prison.
