Velma Miller Stacy Hutton, 89

Velma Miller Stacy Hutton, 89, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Brendan House in Kalispell. She was born Oct. 14, 1916 in Valier to Clarence and Rose (Adams) Miller.

She lived with her grandparents in Shelby until the age of 6. She moved with her mother and brother to Browning where she received her education, graduating from Browning High School in 1934.

On Nov. 22, 1934, she married Norman Eugene "Brownie" Stacy. In the fall of 1935, they moved to Kalispell where she raised her children. She lost her husband, Brownie, in May of 1950.

In 1957, she married Delbert Hutton who preceded her in death in 1977. She lived in Kalispell for the rest of her life.

She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary serving as secretary and past president. She was a member of the Scandinavian Fraternity of America. She was employed as a clerk of West Valley School for 13 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her two husbands; her brother, John Miller; her sister, Bertha Arnoux; and her son, Robert A Stacy.

She is survived by her three sons; James E. "Lucky" Stacy and wife Lois of Kalispell, Dennis Stacy and wife Debra of Fairbanks, Alaska, and N.E. "Gene" Stacy and wife Tudy of Arizona; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Tonkinson and husband Tom; 11 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved with all her heart these many years.

She is also survived by four brothers, Alvin, Burton and Donald Arnoux, and Bill Turner, and their wives; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Velma Miller Stacy Hutton will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 30, in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
