dispatched North Valley Search and Rescue at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, when a man with dementia on Vans Avenue in Columbia Falls wandered away from home. At about 4 a.m., someone from the railroad reported that the man was walking on the train tracks near the Meadowlake Boulevard trestle and was nearly hit by a train. Another train was slowed as a precaution. The man was taken to the Police Department at about 4:30 a.m. and was returned safely home.

A chain saw stolen in Martin City was reportedly found at a pawn shop. A motorcycle was reported stolen from a garage on Bayou Road.

A woman who aroused concern by sitting in the rain on a snowbank on the North Fork Road said she was OK when a passerby inquired. She was gone when a deputy arrived.

A girl was reported missing Tuesday evening at Lonesome Dove Ranch; she was found quickly.

It was bad enough getting a flat tire for a driver Tuesday evening in Bigfork. Then, the spare didn't fit right. But worst was while the driver was in the Tall Pine bar, someone stole the spare.

A man in Evergreen said he was assaulted by three men, but didn't want medical attention. Deputies are investigating a domestic disturbance that happened at about 1 a.m. in Evergreen. An unwanted man rang the doorbell of a home on Dover Drive at about 6 a.m. He went to a motel instead of being admitted.

A man went into a home on Pioneer Road where he allegedly threw soda at a woman and called her foul names. His next stop was in a field, where he hid.

A chicken-killing dog was reported on Snowshoe Flats.

The Kalispell Fire Department ambulance and Office of Emergency Services went to Snappy's Sport Senter after someone there suffered a possible allergic reaction to a package. He went to the hospital to be checked out. The contents of the package will be tested.
