Dr. Howard N. Mazurkiewicz, 64
Dr. Howard N. Mazurkiewicz, 64, passed away at his home in Rollins on Feb. 24, 2006.
Howard was born Aug. 27, 1941 in Detroit, the son of William and Helen (Kozlowski) Mazurkiewicz. Howard grew up in Detroit and graduated from the University of Detroit in 1959. He then went to Wayne State University Medical School and graduated in 1967.
He married Janet Kaminski in Detroit. The couple then moved to Los Angeles, where Howard served his internship at the Los Angeles County Hospital. He was then drafted by the U.S. Army and spent four years in Germany. Howard then moved to Denver, where he served three years at the Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center for his radiology residency.
He retired from the Army after 10 years of honorable service as a lieutenant colonel. After military duty, he moved to Great Falls, where he practiced radiology for 25 years at Deaconess Medical Center, which is now Benefis East. Howard retired in January 2001 when he moved to Rollins.
Howard is survived by his wife, Janet, of Rollins; sons Paul M., Mark M., and Michael M. Mazurkiewicz of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Christina Boysen, of Kalispell; brother, Bill M. Mazurkiewicz, of Rochester, Mich.; grandson, Zane Mazurkiewicz, of Fort Collins; sisters-in-law, Monica Cavanagh of New Zealand, and Rita Kaminski of Greeley, Colo.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 602 S. Main St., with urn burial afterward at C.E. Conrad Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Habitat for Humanity in his name.
