took a report of someone burning a dead dog Tuesday on Crestview Drive. The fuel turned out to be just wood, not fur, and the residents agreed to put out the fire.

The next burning question might be, what was that material on fire in the street on Seventh Avenue West North? Whatever it was, an officer stomped out the flames and disposed of it.

A woman found with a stolen vehicle is wanted in Oregon, but not badly enough for officials there to get her, so she was released.

Shovels, a skunk trap and a battery were stolen from Wild Geese Gardens. Tires were taken off a van at Kalispell Alignment, where the jack was left with the derubberized vehicle. More car strippage was reported at the college, where a headlight and blinker disappeared.

A business reported a substantial theft of money.

An elderly man appeared at City Hall, asking for help in reading a map. An officer obliged him. Another elderly man appeared lost and confused on a street corner on Fifth Avenue West North. He was, and a policeman gave him a ride.
