The Flathead County Sheriff's Office deputies
were occupied with variations on the theme of disturbances. Among them were reports of a couple's dispute on Karrow Avenue where a man was ripping up a house, and a man with a knife in a tent on Shady Lane. In the latter case, nobody really wanted to talk to law-enforcement officers after the man pedaled away on a bike.
A woman caused a disturbance on U.S. 2 West. A deputy counseled two girls after one complained of another harassing her about a boy. Another woman said she's being harassed by someone who says she belongs in a mental institution and maybe that person should be dead.
Vehicles were broken into on Dogwood Avenue, Bigfork Stage Road and in Martin City. About 40 vehicle windows were smashed at Swartzenberger Wrecking. A home on Coram Stage Road was burglarized. On Alpha Road, intruders took guns and alcohol.
A woman reported her husband missing.
A fire reported near the landfill turned out to be a dust cloud.
A trailer was reported missing from U-Haul near Columbia Falls.
A man was cited for shooting a neighbor's dog and cat at Haywire Gulch. A case of animal cruelty is being investigated: Someone described one horse as "pig fat," one that seems to be OK, and two that are starving.
