Legends Stadium to host Griz scrimmage

The University of Montana Maroon and Silver football scrimmage is set for April 8th at noon at Legends Stadium.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12-and-under. Ticket outlets are Western States Insurance in Bigfork and Kalispell, Western Outdoors in Kalispell and Wine and Spirits in Kalispell.

There will be a pre-game tailgate party before the scrimmage from 10 a.m.-noon in the back lot of Scarff Auto Center.

A pig roast barbecue is scheduled for 2 p.m. after the scrimmage at the Country Kitchen at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. UM players and Monte will be present for photos and autographs. The cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 12-and-under.

The night before the scrimmage, fans will be able to meet the Griz coaches at Fatt Boys Bar and Grille.

Kalispell also hosted the spring scrimmage in 1995 and 2001. The Griz went on to capture national titles both years.

NOTE: The University of Montana football team will scrimmage today at 3:30 p.m. in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. The scrimmage is free to the public.
