"The radiant light of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother extinguished at home Tuesday, March, 21, 2006, only to brighten up in another place more perfect and divine. As she shines in the arms of our Lord," her gentle warmth and wit will forever linger in the souls of all who loved and knew her.

It began for Opal Jane on a bright but cold day Dec. 17, 1911. Being the third born of 11 brothers and sisters, her destiny to serve was set forth.

She married Robert Peevler, the love of her life, in 1936 and spent the next 63 years being the consummate homemaker - cooking, cleaning and taking care of her husband and children.

All who knew her could attest to her razor-sharp wit and unparalleled sense of humor, which delighted most and eluded some. She had no special talent, never had a driver's license, no special beauty mark, wouldn't sing, had no manicured nails to file, but what she had she flaunted with the style of a fur-lined stole - she flashed her beautiful soul.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Peevler; four brothers, Edmund, Earcle, Oscar and Donald; and three sisters, Myrtle, Ruby and Alberta.

Survivors include her brother, Homer; and two sisters, Pauline and Geneva.

Opal and Bob had three daughters, Bobbi Burnum of Nampa, Idaho, Linda Bruns of Kalispell and Reatha Windecker of Fargo, Okla. She always had a special place in her heart for all her children, seven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Her life had immeasurable impact and influence in the lives of many. She inspired us, encouraged us, entertained us, teased us, loved and comforted us.

Our mother and grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Over the course of the past 10 years she slowly left us, while her memories of us left her, ours of her have not.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
