Two men were arrested and a Flathead County Sheriff's deputy was treated for a bite wound in an incident in Lakeside overnight Friday.
Flathead County Sheriff's Office took a call at about 11:30 p.m. from a woman on Stoner Creek Road who said an armed man was there and that he had tried to strangle her and had held a gun to her head. Then she reportedly told a dispatcher that the man was sitting on the porch, smoking a cigarette, and awaiting a shootout. He was identified as George Bibber, 42.
Next, a call came from Grandview Terrace, where Bibber was said to be, injured, according to his sister.
When deputies arrived, the woman's husband reportedly confronted the officers.
According to a report, the husband, Steven Heinze, 50, bit into the arm of deputy GW Schneider, tearing his sleeve and leaving a 2-inch wound.
Officers arrested Bibber on suspicion of assault with a weapon and criminal contempt. Heinze was arrested on charges of assaulting and obstructing a police officer.
Schneider went to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
