Frank Weimar, 96, passed away of natural causes Sunday, March 26, 2006, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. He was born Jan. 13, 1910, in Larimore, N.D., to Jack and Annie (Sheberle) Weimar.

Frank and his family moved to Box Elder during his early childhood where he spent his school years. Frank became the man of the family at a very young age. He and his mother and sister operated a large ranch near Box Elder for many years.

As a young man, he made many adventurous trips on the cattle trains to take his stock to market at St. Paul and Minneapolis. During the 1934 trip, Frank attended the Chicago World's Fair - returning with many memories. Frank could tell many stories about the Depression days in the '30s.

In 1949, they sold the ranch and bought a farm near Rose Crossing in Kalispell. Frank sold his beloved farm in 2005. Frank loved his cattle and was a man's man among cattle ranchers.

During his semi-retirement years from farming and ranching, Frank enjoyed traveling with adventures to Mexico, Italy - where he visited the Vatican, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and numerous European countries.

He was married to Lena Wunderlick and was later divorced.

In 1994, Frank married his friend of more than 40 years, Gail Seelye. Gail was the widow of Frank's best friend and companion, Dale Seelye. Frank and Dale spent decades hunting, fishing, ranching, card playing and maybe even a little mischief!

Frank and Gail took many wonderful trips during their marriage. They especially enjoyed several "Mystery Tours."

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Annie Weimar; his sister, Mae "sis"; and his best friend, Dale Seelye. He is survived by his wife, Gail, of Kalispell; and four step-children, Terry Seelye and wife, Karen, Judy Motichka and husband, Myron, Fay Skiles and husband, Dan, and Laura Seelye and friend Paul Steele; nine stepgrandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. Frank also is survived by his half-sister, Leah Ziegler, of Calgary, Alberta; and two special cousins, Lawrence Pogrebo of California, and Lorraine Vaughn of Havre.

Visitation for Frank will be held in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. on today, March 28, until 7 p.m., when a rosary will be said. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, with Father Vic Langhans as celebrant. Burial will be afterward in the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Home, 185 Crestline Ave., Kalispell, MT 59901; Home Options Hospice, 175 Commons Loop, Suite 100, Kalispell, MT 59901; or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for Frank's family.
