Jennie Louise Dalton, 92

Jennie Louise Dalton, 92, of Mount Vernon, Ill., formerly of the Kalispell area, died Tuesday evening, March 28, 2006, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born July 27, 1914, in Romine Township, Marion County, Ill., to Charles Henry and Hulda Rebecca (Wilson) Smith.

On April 23, 1941, she married Frank Lee Dalton in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1988.

She was a homemaker.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eva Weems and Mamie Orric; and brothers, Gale Smith and Adra Smith; brothers-in-law, Dorvin Weems, Samuel Orric and Billy Halterman; and nephews, Dorvin Sechrest, Terry Smith and Charles Orric.

Jennie is survived her brothers, George and wife, Evelyn Smith, of Benton, Ill., and Leonard Smith of Mount Vernon; sisters, Fern and husband, Hal Sechrest, of Mount Vernon, and Katie Halterman of Centralia, Ill; sisters-in-law, Merlene Smith of Dyersburg, Tenn., Fay Smith and Mary Smith, both of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her special friends, Marlene and Robert Bradford of Kalispell, and Vernie Boomgaarden of Carthage, S.D.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, Ill. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, under the direction of Marty Mills. Burial will be at a later date at Sunwest Cemetery in El Mirage, Ariz.
