Wildkats stop Eureka, 7-0

COLUMBIA FALLS - The Columbia Falls Wildkats blew past Eureka during Thursday's non-conference tennis match, 7-0.

The Marcille sisters put their doubles act away to play No. 1 and No. 3 singles. Both won their matches in straight sets.

Eureka's Martina Quade put up the best fight for her team. She narrowly lost the first set to Chelsea Smith, 7-5, before Smith put away the second set, 6-1.

Columbia Falls travels to Libby on Saturday, 11 a.m., while Eureka plays at Whitefish on Monday.

BIGFORK - Polson won every match except the No. 4 singles match Thursday, when Bigfork's Scott Taylor defeated Jason Newton, 4-6, 6-4, 7-4.

The rest of the Pirates won in straight sets.

Bigfork hosts Whitefish and Cut Bank on Saturday, 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

BIGFORK - Roxy Thurman and Whitney Wilson pushed Polson's Cali Hislop and Mattea York to three sets Thursday, but fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, as the Pirates beat the Valkyries.

Elise Bennet's singles match against Bigfork's Brianna Hughes also went the distance. Bennet was victorious, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.

Polson plays at Corvallis and Hamilton on Saturday, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
