In an effort to help voters decide among the nine Republican and three Democratic candidates, the Inter Lake quizzed all 12.

The first installment of their answers - dealing with their motivations for running and their attitudes toward growth - appears on Pages D3 and D4 in today's Montana Perspectives section.

In later weeks leading up to the June 6 primary election, the Inter Lake will present candidates' views on several other issues.
