Polson splits with Whitefish in tennis

POLSON - John Rausch and Jake Grebetz defeated Scott Johnson and David Hobbs 6-7 (8-6), 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles Tuesday to give Polson a 4-3 victory over Whitefish in a Class A tennis dual.

Polson won at Nos. 1-2 singles plus No. 3 doubles.

In the girls dual, Whitefish came out on top in three of four singles matches and won at Nos. 2-3 doubles.

"In the boys and girls, a lot of tight matches," said Polson coach Bob Hislop.

"Very good competition the week before divisional."

The Polson boys and girls are both 12-2 on the dual season.

Whitefish plays at Columbia Falls on Thursday, 4 p.m., while Polson journeys to Libby, 3 p.m.
