Montanans for Multiple Use is hosting a forum tonight for the Flathead County commissioner candidates.

The meeting takes places at the county fairgrounds Country Kitchen building from 6-9 p.m.

Each candidate will have an opportunity to answer the same four questions on natural resource use and property rights. The amount of time they will have for their answers depends on how many of the 12 candidates show up.

Food will be available, and there will be breaks to give the public time to mingle with the candidates. The event is free, but donations will be accepted.

Nine Republican commissioner candidates - Gerry Banzet, Kim Fleming, Brian Fulford, Dale Lauman, Corey Pilsch, David Reynolds, Kathy Robertson, Kip Willis and Pamela Holmquist - are vying in the June 6 primary election.

On the Democratic side there are three commissioner candidates: Don Avery, Mark Crowley and Don Hines.

On Tuesday, the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce also is hosting a candidate "meet-and-greet" and a debate for the commissioner candidates at the WestCoast Kalispell Center Hotel.

Candidates for all the positions featured in the June 6 primary election have been invited to the meet-and-greet session, which runs from 11 a.m. to noon.

That will be followed by lunch and a commissioner candidate debate from noon to 1 p.m.

Tickets for the luncheon cost $12 for Chamber members or $14 for nonmembers. For reservations or more information, call 758-2800.
