Yoga Day fundraiser is today

A Yoga Day fundraiser will be held today at the Ananda Seva Yoga Center, 36 Second St. E., in Kalispell. All types of yoga classes will be offered from 7 a.m. to noon, from beginner Ashtanga and Kundalini to gentle Hatha.

All donations from the day will be given to the Violence Free Crisis Center in Kalispell. Call 756-1195 for details.

Trout Unlimited hosts fundraising banquet today

The Flathead Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited has its annual fundraising banquet and auction today at Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish, beginning at 6 p.m. with no-host cocktails, viewing of the art and raffle items and socializing with fellow members and guests. Tickets cost $35 and include dinner and a chance for one of the door prizes. Everyone is welcome, including people who are not members of Trout Unlimited.

Bigfork Chamber sponsors Safety Day

The Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Community and Family Safety Day today at the Bigfork Elementary School parking lot and cafeteria on Commerce Street. Gov. Brian Schweitzer will also attend as the special guest of the day. Call Marina Cay at 837-5861 to see whether reservations still are available.

A variety of exhibits, demonstrations and hands on learning for youths and families about safety will be at the daylong event, which everyone is welcome to attend.

Reception for Glacier Chorale conductor is today

A reception for retiring Glacier Chorale conductor Shauneen Garner will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today upstairs at the Museum at Central School, 124 Second Ave. E., in Kalispell. Refreshments and no-host bar will be available. The public is welcome to attend.

Senior Center hosts lutefisk dinner

The public is invited to attend a lutefisk dinner from 4 until 7 p.m. today at the North Valley Senior Center in Columbia Falls. Reservations are not required. The cost is $10 a person.

The menu includes lefse, Yukon gold and cherry red potatoes, Swedish meatballs, coleslaw, string beans and Norwegian cookies.

The lutefisk dinner is being served in observance of Syttende Mai, which actually takes place May 17 - Norwegian Constitution Day.

Proceeds from the lutefisk dinner will be used to help finance utilities, insurance, maintenance and other costs of the Senior Center.

Art studio hosts Rat Pack party

Stumptown Art Studio, 145 Central Ave., in Whitefish is hosting a Rat Pack and martini-inspired theme party from 7 to 10 p.m. today.

Make Rat-Pack-inspired art projects, enjoy a martini and dance the night away.

Tickets are limited, and the cost is $30 a person or $55 a couple.

All money raised from this event will help fund art classes and workshops at the nonprofit studio.
