James R. "Jim" Clegg, 70, "passed on to the Lord" on May 9, 2006, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

He was the oldest of three boys born to Delbert and Alice Clegg of Portland. Jim was born in Medford, Ore., and he fished the ocean in California in his younger days.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Jim loved the outdoors, ocean and fly fishing, hunting and his hunting dog, Hobbes. He loved flowers and gardening and people. He would help anyone when he could.

Jim will be dearly missed.

He is survived locally by his wife, Nancy, of Bigfork. He is also survived by his son, Bob and wife, Laurie, and their son, Alex; son, Jeffrey; daughter, Carrie Achilles; brother, Terry Clegg; and his niece, Alana, and her husband, Ewan Campbell, all from Washington.
