Police search nets pot, 160 tablets of Ecstasy
Kalispell police, following up on a traffic-stop arrest last week, reportedly discovered marijuana and 160 tablets of Ecstasy.
It was after midnight May 17 that an officer stopped Benjamin Wilson, 19, for allegedly speeding and failing to dim his headlights.
Detective Scott Warnell said Wilson acted suspiciously, so the officers asked him to step out of his car. They found $1,300 and a small amount of marijuana on him, Warnell said.
Wilson was arrested.
Officers obtained a search warrant for Wilson's vehicle. In it, they reportedly found 250 grams of marijuana, worth about $2,000. With the help of the Northwest Drug Task Force, officers also found 160 Ecstasy tablets, worth about $3,200, at another location.
Drug team commander Kevin Burns described Ecstasy as an illegal amphetamine club drug.
Wilson faces a felony charge of possession of drugs with intent to distribute. Warnell said more arrests are expected.
Flathead drug officers are "seeing more Ecstasy and definitely starting to see more cocaine," Burns said.
