Lynn T. 'Ted' Day Jr., 81
Lynn T. "Ted" Day Jr., 81, died at his residence in Nampa, Idaho, on May 23, 2006, after a long battle with diabetes.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 North Midland Blvd., in Nampa.
Ted was born March 31, 1925, in Grand Rapids, Minn., to Lynn Theodore and Eleanor J. Day. He was raised in Montana and graduated in 1942 from Flathead County High School in Kalispell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he spent time in both the Marshall and Mariana islands. After the war he attended Montana State College in Bozeman, graduating with a bachelor's degree in physical education.
Ted was a the past owner of Garey Motor Company in Kalispell, Sportsman's Surplus in Missoula, and Happy's Inn in Libby. He retired in 1989 as golf-operations manager at Casa Grande Country Club in Phoenix.
He enjoyed youth athletics and was an avid baseball fan. He had fond memories of coaching a state champion Babe Ruth team and a state runner-up American Legion team.
Ted is survived by his two children, Mary Burge of Nampa, and Ted Day III of Reno, Nev., and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James and John Day.
