Man held in connection with alleged kidnapping

A man was reportedly in custody Monday evening in Lake County, being questioned about a kidnapping during the weekend.

Flathead and Lake County authorities are investigating a teenage girl's claim that she was kidnapped, possibly from Bigfork. She reportedly said she woke up in the back of a van at Woods Bay and didn't recognize the driver.

Authorities said the 18-year-old girl screamed and attracted the attention of people nearby. They called Lake County authorities, who stopped the van and talked to the 57-year-old driver, who reportedly was not forthcoming with officers. The girl reportedly screamed again and the man was taken into custody.

The girl went to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for an examination.

The man's name was not immediately released.
