Lee D. Baisch, 75

Lee D. Baisch, born Sept. 5, 1931, in Hazen, N.D., passed away Oct. 28, 2006, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferd and Eloise Baisch; and his sister, Rosalyn Heick.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Miller on March 20, 1955, in Glendive.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; daughter, Kelly Baisch, and husband, Alex Saylor, of Kalispell; son Stuart Baisch and wife, Jan, of Keenesburg, Colo.; son, Todd Baisch and wife, Roni, of Ranger, Ga.; and twin granddaughters, Lindsey and Lacey Baisch, of Keenesburg.

Also surviving are his brothers; Maynard of Sidney, Jim of Glendive, David of Billings, and Richard of Wibaux; sister, Leona Mittlestadt, of Missoula; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lee graduated from Dawson County High School in Glendive - Class of 1951. From January 1953 to January 1955, near the end of the Korean War, he served two years on active duty with the U.S. Army.

Lee enjoyed a full and busy life working in the petroleum industry throughout the Rocky Mountain states and by his example demonstrated the peace and comfort of a strong belief in the Lord.

During his early retirement years, Lee served with Laborers for Christ, assisting congregations in building churches and classrooms. He was a member of the crew constructing First Lutheran Church in Missoula.

Lee was a loving, kind and gentle man, and the disease that deprived him and his family of his "golden years" meant a very long goodbye for him, his loved ones and his many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at First Lutheran Church in Missoula. A family committal service is planned during the coming summer in Glendive.
