Ballot issues

Constitutional Amendment 43

To change the name of the state auditor to the insurance commissioner.

Initiative No. 151

To raise the minimum wage to $6.15 per hour or the federal minimum, whichever is greater, plus an annual cost-of-living adjustment.

Initiative No. 153

To prohibit former state officials and staff from becoming licensed lobbyists within 24 months following their departure from state government.

Mosquito levy

To authorize up to one additional mill in county property taxes for countywide mosquito control. It would cost approximately $3.14 in extra taxes per $100,000 in home value.

Whitefish mayor

To extend the terms of Whitefish mayors from two to four years.

Smith Valley Fire District

bond issue

To authorize up to $1.5 million in bonds to build a new fire hall and purchase equipment for the Smith Valley Fire District. It would cost an extra $33 a year for a home with a taxable valuation of $150,000.

West Valley Fire District levy

To authorize up to seven mills per year in additional property taxes for fire equipment and facilities for the West Valley Rural Fire District. It would cost an extra $22 a year per $100,000 in home value.

Helena Flats School bond issue

To authorize $2.3 million in bonds for an 11,350-square-foot addition plus repairs to the school. It would cost the owner of a house with $100,000 assessed value an extra $131 a year in taxes.
