Leota 'Mae' Sudan, 78

Leota "Mae" Sudan, 78, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at her home in Kalispell. She was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Browning, to Warren and Delma Croskrey.

She spent her early years in the Swan Valley until 1938 when her parents bought a farm in the LaSalle area. Mae went to Birch Grove School and graduated from Flathead County High School.

On August 1, 1946, she married John Sudan. Together they worked their farm in Bigfork and raised five children.

She was preceded in death by her husband in November 1998.

Mae is survived by her five children, Wanda Smith of Broadus, Mont., Wilma Siemens of Bigfork, Marvin Sudan of Kila, Stanley Sudan of Lafayette, Colo., and Norman Sudan of Kalispell; 15 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mae will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Glacier Memorial Gardens, 2659 Hwy. 93 North in Kalispell, with Pastor Ron Pierce officiating. The family suggests donations be made in her name to the Bigfork Quick Response Unit, 810 Grand Ave., Bigfork, MT 59911.
