Evelyn Nelson Boe Taylor, 97
On Nov. 13, 2006, our beloved and lovely mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Evelyn Nelson Boe Taylor, 'went to be with her heavenly Father' while she was residing at Prestige Assisted Living.
Evelyn was born Sept. 15, 1909, to Adolph and Borgina 'Bertha' Larson Nelson, the first of seven children. She attended school in Minnesota before graduating from Flathead County High School.
In 1933 she married William R. Boe in Cut Bank and lived there for 25 years with the exception of eight years in North Hollywood, Calif. To this marriage was born two daughters, Shirley and Sharon. Evelyn was very active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, artistic circles and was assistant city clerk for the City of Cut Bank for several years.
Evelyn was widowed in 1953 and a few years later married John K. Taylor in Cut Bank. They later moved to the Seattle area, before retiring to their home at Bitterroot Lake near Marion. They spent their winters in Mesa, Ariz., enjoying the many activities the area had to offer. Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed her two homes and sharing them with family and friends.
John died in 1984 in Kalispell, but Evelyn continued living in Kalispell and Mesa until 1998 when she moved into Prestige Assisted Living. She was lovingly cared for by the staff at Prestige for which the family is grateful. Our thanks to them and Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to our mother.
Evelyn was a very artistic, creative person, sharing her paintings and handiwork with family and friends throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in our homes with her many oil paintings, crocheted afghans and knitted items.
She will be greatly missed by Shirley and Max Amberson of Bozeman, and Sharon and Paul Tutvedt of Kalispell; six grandchildren, Pam and Jim Okura of Woodinville, Wash., Mark and Debra Amberson of Bend, Ore., LeeAnn and Peter Burke of Bozeman, Craig and Laurie Tutvedt, David Tutvedt, Brian and Suzanne Tutvedt; 12 grandchildren, Breann, Taylor and Will Tutvedt, Megan, Garrett, Nate and Boe Tutvedt, Blake and Kailee Amberson, Christopher Okura and Ben and Max Burke. Her surviving sisters are Janet and Clayton Donovan, and Beartrice and Gene Havens, all of Kalispell.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Altona Gorton, Anna Wik, Lois McCluskey, and brother, Arlind Nelson.
Memorial services with family will be held on Nov. 18 at Stillwater Lutheran Church.
