| November 26, 2006 1:00 AM

When he stepped out of Dairy Queen in Bigfork, his car was nowhere in sight. The man called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies to report a stolen vehicle - then called back 10 minutes later when he remembered he'd driven his truck to the restaurant, and the car was safe in the garage where he'd left it.

A car stolen in Kalispell turned up in Missoula a few hours later. Another stolen vehicle may have been recovered on Kokanee Bend.

A woman called deputies to complain the dog grooming business where she'd left her dog had given the animal to someone else. She said she'd just received a call from an Oregon woman, who told her the dog now belonged to her and she wanted all of its paperwork.

A Helena Flats man called deputies when his neighbor told him there was a dead body under his trailer and asked him to help dispose of it. The neighbor, who had been drinking, later said he was only joking.

Deputies arrested a man for driving sans insurance in Hungry Horse.

Several school buses at Somers School District reportedly were vandalized.
