Kalispell Police took a call Monday night when nine puppies were abandoned in a box outside of Gateway West Cinema. The National Weather Service said the temperature when the puppies were abandoned was about 7 degrees. Temporary homes were found for all of the puppies, according to animal warden Mike Hall, but some of the shepherd-mix puppies will need permanent homes.

Some drivers overestimated the power of their vehicles in the snow Monday. Trucks were high-centered on berms on Main and Center streets, West Idaho, and East Idaho. The snow also interfered with the cycles of some traffic lights as drivers didn't stop far enough into intersections to activate them.

A man who allegedly tried to steal some merchandise from a convenience store became abusive when an employee took it back. An officer explained to the man that his presence won't be appreciated again at the store.

Snowmobiles aren't legal on city streets, as residents on Merganser found out.

There was a report of two cats, a dog, and bird being neglected at a home.

A woman allegedly made threats after a restraining-order hearing at the courthouse.

A man reported overhearing a young man bragging about having a gun or a pipe at Taco Bell. An officer checked it out and arrested the man for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia.
