Peggy Jo (Chase) Cherry, 57
Peggy Jo (Chase) Cherry, 57, of Yakima, Wash., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, from an extended illness. She was at home, surrounded by her family.
Peggy was born Nov. 27, 1948, in San Francisco to Earl and Helen (Gentile) Chase. She grew up in Whitefish, where she graduated from Columbia Falls High School.
In 1977, she married Melvin Cherry in Moses Lake, Wash. In 1980, they moved to Yakima, where they raised their three sons.
Peggy enjoyed planting flowers in front of her home, gathering at get-togethers with family and friends, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Peggy was always lending a helping hand to anyone who was in need.
Survivors include her husband, Mel; three sons, Brian and wife Amy, Joshua and Jason; grandchildren Gianni (8), Hailey (2), and Jason (3); and three brothers, Dick Chase of Libby, Fred Chase of Bigfork, and Mike Chase of Moses Lake.
Her parents preceded her in death.
A celebration of Peggy's life was held at the Yakima Eagles Lodge on Sept. 30.
The Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima handled arrangements.
