Phyllis Jean Bosley, 80
Phyllis Jean Bosley, 80, "went to rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father" on Oct. 4, 2006. She was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Van Hook, N.D., to George Barton and Rebecca Margaret (De Tienne) Baker.
In her younger years, Phyllis worked at Camp Tuffit at Lake Mary Ronan, later at the Somers Lumber Company, and at the Kalispell Hospital. She worked the majority of her years at the Outlaw Inn, where for 25 years she made many, many wonderful friends.
She married Floyd Fredericks of Kalispell in 1943, who became the father of Connie, Jerry and Sidney. They lived in the Gallatin Valley, where she worked on a ranch. When evening came and the cowboys went about their chores, her passion for horses prevailed once again and she was free to go back to the cowgirl life she loved and would ride carefree.
In 1954 she married Robert Bosley and became the wife of a miner in Mullen, Idaho. One year later they moved back to Kalispell, and two years later Rob Bosley Jr. was born. Together they raised their four children in Kalispell.
Family was the most important thing in the world to her; she had a special bond with each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they all were the joy of her life!
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rebecca Baker, of Parshall, N.D.; brothers, Everette Baker, Vern Baker and Sylvin Baker, who was killed on Omaha Beach during the invasion of Normandy, where he received the Silver Star; and sister, Adelaide Brunsell.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Bosley Sr., of Kalispell; three sons, Robert Bosley Jr., and wife, Debbie, of Kalispell, Sidney Fredericks and wife, Randi, of The Dalles, Ore., and Jerry Fredericks and wife, Leola, of Kalispell; one daughter, Connie (May) State, and husband, Tom, of Hanford, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Cory Fredericks, Robert Bosley III, Lesa (Bosley) Lindahl, Lori (Bosley) Kaufmann, Alicia (Fredericks) Slawson, Amy Fredericks, Georgia May, Michele Marsh, David May, Charlie May, Danielle Warren and Brandon Warren; great-grandchildren, Joey, Brittany, Cody, Izach, Landin, Kathleen, Melissa, Savannah, Kimberly and Ryan; one remaining sister, Norma (Baker) Johnson, of Parshall, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, in the Johnson Mortuary chapel. Cremation has taken place. A memorial in North Dakota will be announced at a later date.
