Law officers looking for sex offender

Flathead County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Jeanne Landis wants to find Eric Christopher Droegemeier.

A convicted sex offender from California, Droegemeier has been convicted of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.

Landis said Droegemeier, 34, has "been here for quite some time."

He initially registered as required of convicted sex offenders, but has moved from the Ashley Lake Road address he gave.

Last week, the FBI notified the Sheriff's Office that Droegemeier attempted to buy a firearm here. That's prohibited for convicted sexual and violent offenders who are not properly registered, Landis said.

It's also proof that Droegemeier is still in the area, she said.
