Donald Lewis Canfield, 58

Donald Lewis Canfield, 58, passed away at his Kalispell home Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006. Donald was born Sept. 30, 1948, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Carl Lewis and Eileen (Fleischmann) Canfield. He was raised in Covina, Calif., and graduated high school there.

He married Linda Hilley in West Covina, Calif., in 1973. Donald worked as a heavy-equipment operator and landfill operator. He was the best cat skinner west of the Mississippi. Donald enjoyed operating his equipment, hunting, fishing, building stuff, riding his four-wheeler (playing with his toys), his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Lewis Canfield; and a brother, Ronald Lee Canfield.

Donald is survived by his wife, Linda Canfield; mother, Eileen Kerekes; daughter, Renee, and husband, Hal, Sturdevant; sons, Don and his wife, Mandy, and Casey Canfleld; brother, Larry and Debbie Canfield; sister, Linda Merrill; aunts and uncles, Laura and Tony Petrocco, and Butch and Sandy Fleischmann; nephews, Brian and David Palmer, Eric and Silas Canfield; and nieces, Stephanie Kathman, and Elise and Marie Canfleld.

Visitation for Donald will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home with burial afterward at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Heart Association, 510 First Ave. N., Room 114, Great Falls, MT 59401.
