Tonight's football game just can't get here fast enough to suit the Flathead Braves.
After a couple tough weeks - two losses by a grand total of five points - the Braves (5-3, 5-3) are hungry for an opponent.
The Hellgate Knights (2-7, 2-7) will be that opponent tonight.
Game time is 7 p.m. at Legends Stadium.
"If we can keep all the weapons we have pointed at the opposition, we'll do fine," said Flathead coach Grady Bennett.
In last week's 20-18 loss at Helena Capital, the Braves had three turnovers, missed two extra points, had a field goal blocked and were flagged for 80 yards in penalties.
Yet they were still right there.
"We've just got to clean things up, eliminate mistakes and we are right where we think we should be," Bennett said.
The Braves welcome back sophomore quarterback Brock Osweiler. An injury, not missed practices, caused Osweiler to miss last Friday's Helena Capital contest.
"He's come back and not missed a beat," Bennett said.
"It killed him sitting and watching us lose a close game. He's just excited - and I'm excited to watch him."
Also, look for Flathead senior fullback Shane Komenda (6-0, 205) to get some time tonight.
Komenda, hurt in the first game of the season, was able to suit up last weekend.
"He's had two weeks to practice. We're going to get him in right away that first series," Bennett said.
"We'll hopefully get him back into the groove.
"He'll do well. He deserves to do well."
Komenda's return means Flathead now has packages for four good running backs, including Reed Watkins, Dan Ogden and John Goldberg.
The Knights are coming off a 34-7 win over Sentinel and they have a good back as well. Fullback Adam Hiday carred 23 times for 117 yards last week.
"Good linebacker, good running back," Bennett said.
"Once again, our defense will be put to the test.
"(The Knights) always have tough kids, kids that play hard and will hit you and battle," he said.
"I respect (coach) Jeff Dohn as much as anybody in the state. He doesn't have many numbers, but he does a great job year after year. I admire him. His kids always play hard. They run the ball very well and they're always a bugger to prepare for."
