Man pleads guilty to biting girlfriend's ear

A Lakeside man admitted Thursday that he bit off his girlfriend's earlobe after an argument in a bar.

Grant Buehler was 49 in February when he and the woman had a disagreement at the Spinnaker bar.

"I went to give her a love nibble and I just went too far," Buehler told District Judge Stewart Stadler in emotional testimony.

He fled after the incident and later turned himself in on an aggravated assault charge. The ear, with a Nascar earring in it, wasn't found.

Buehler's girlfriend appeared in court. She supports him in the criminal case, Buehler said.

He has no prior criminal convictions, according to his attorney, Lane Bennett.

Buehler will be sentenced on Dec. 7.
