Flathead faces Butte in playoffs

Flathead (6-3) will face off with Butte (7-2) on Friday in first-round action of the Class AA football playoffs.
Flathead is seeded fifth in the eight-team field while Butte is seeded fourth.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Bulldog Memorial Stadium.
Flathead and Butte tangled in Butte on Oct. 6 with the Braves prevailing 21-14.
Dan Ogden ran for three touchdowns in that contest and Travis Knoll had a key interception and a fumble recovery.
Both teams came into that battle 5-1 in league play and overall.
Butte was ranked No. 1 at the time and Flathead No. 2.
The victory lifted FHS into the No. 1 spot the following week, but the Braves fell at Helena High 10-7.
Butte is currently ranked No. 5 while Flathead is unranked.
Top-ranked Billings West (8-1) is the top seed. West will host eighth-seeded Bozeman (4-5) on Friday.
The Butte/Flathead winner will meet the West/Bozeman winner in the semifinals the weekend of Nov. 10-11.
Two teams with losing records managed to make this year's playoff round as C.M. Russell (4-5) is seeded seventh. The Rustlers face No. 2 seeded Helena High (7-2) on Friday.
One playoff game will take place Saturday. Sixth-seeded Billings Senior (6-3) travels to No. 3 seed Helena Capital (7-2).
