Snow blankets Flathead
The Daily Inter Lake
The Flathead Valley's first snow for this winter … technically this fall … fell Sunday.
The National Weather Service predicted from 2 to 4 inches of snow in the Flathead Valley, at least 4 inches in and near Hungry Horse, and from 6 to 12 inches in higher elevations by this morning.
Area law-enforcement agencies reported sporadic minor weather-related accidents Sunday evening.
The Weather Service predicts a slight chance of snow sprinkles this morning with high temperatures reaching 29-36 degrees. Tonight will see the mercury drop into the teens or possibly single digits.
There's a small chance of more snow early this week, with that likelihood increasing toward the end of the week. Highs will reach just above or just below freezing this week before hitting the 40s this weekend. The lows likely will be in the teens.
Expect partly sunny days and cloudy nights, the Weather Service says.
