Jeanne Arlee Gallentine, 69
Jeanne Arlee Gallentine, 69, of Ennis, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006.
She was born Sept. 23, 1936, in Big Timber, to Douglas and Mabel Chalmers.
Jeanne graduated from Laurel High School and continued her education at Billings Business College.
On March 28, 1964, she married Glen Gallentine in Missoula. Jeanne worked as a bookkeeper for several firms in Billings, Missoula and Kalispell before moving to Ennis in 1978, where they had a family-owned Camper Corner RV Court and Gallentine Outfitters. For the past 20 years, Jeanne was the office manager/bookkeeper for Total Management Inc.
Jeanne loved the outdoors and spending time with her family where they fished, hunted and camped. Jeanne could have celebrated Christmas 365 days of the year, and her home came alive with all Christmas traditions. Any member of the family unable to be there on Dec. 24 left a huge gap in the heart of the celebration.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; two children, Roben and Joan Gallentine of Ennis, and Katrinka and Scott Kalarchik of Irvine, Calif.; two grandchildren, Julie and Cody Bittick of Ritzville, Wash., and Chase Gallentine of Fairbanks, Alaska; one great-granddaughter, Jodie Bittick; a sister-in-law, Carol Hunter, of Thermopolis, Wyo.; four nieces and two nephews; three half-brothers, Robert, James and Ken Chalmers; and numerous cousins living in the Big Timber area.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Diamond J Guest Ranch in Ennis.
