Douglas Duane Konshur, 70

Douglas Duane Konshur, 70, was born in Minot, N.D., on Aug. 18, 1936, to William and Lettie Konshur. Douglas passed away Sept. 3, 2006, in Apache Junction, Ariz.

He was a service manager at the Ford Garage in Plentywood before moving to Kalispell where he spent most of his life. He owned and operated Timberline Lumber for 25 years, which was the highlight of his life. Douglas built it from the ground up and was very proud of the operation.

He loved the weather in Arizona, moving there in 1995. Arizona summers were his favorite time of the year.

In Arizona, he owned and operated the Treasure Chest Granite Pit in Apache Junction.

He was an avid car buff. He like working on classic cars with his friend, Dan. He belonged to the Veterans Car Club and Nifty Fifty Car Club.

Doug enjoyed sight-seeing in Arizona. He especially liked visiting old mining towns and learning the history behind them.

Since he was a small boy another fascination of his had been the Titanic. That was his ship! He could quote everything about it. He had most all the books and movies that were written about it.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Mary Konshur, of Apache Junction; daughter Dixie Sherman and husband Jon, son William Konshur and wife Sandy, and their mother, Helen Konshur, all of Montana; stepdaughter, Nancy White of Bellville, Ohio; grandchildren, Christina, Whitney, Justin, Davian, Misty and Nichole, and great-grandchildren, Kenadie and Colton, all of Montana.

Douglas had a very generous heart and will be dearly missed by his wife, children, and his many friends and dedicated employees.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, in Apache Junction.
