Wrecks keep safety crews busy

Flathead County Sheriff's Office dispatched rescuers to two accidents with possibly serious injuries Monday evening.

ALERT helicopter, Montana Highway Patrol, Olney Ambulance, Olney Fire Department and Whitefish Ambulance were notified of a crash on U.S. 93 near the Olney turnoff. Directions to the wreck were unclear at first, but rescuers found the wreckage and took injured people to the hospital. Later, ALERT helicopter, Columbia Falls Fire Department, Columbia Falls Ambulance and Montana Highway Patrol went to a crash near the public trash containers. People from that accident also went to the hospital.

A bear was reported on Whitefish Stage Road. A bear, possibly dead, with a rope around its neck was reported by the Old Steel Bridge.

A caller is concerned that bow hunters are baiting animals near Willow Glen Drive.

A fence was damaged on Hoffman Draw where neighbors have disagreed about an easement. Trees and a fence were damaged on Middle Road.

A domestic problem was reported at Kokanee Bend. A man at Pinnacle said a woman beat on his door during the night and he found a gun case on his porch later.

A burglary is under investigation on Maxine Drive.

Someone's BB gun should be confiscated. Damage was reported to windows at Fair-Mont-Egan and Creston schools and to a tractor parked at the former school.

An unwanted man with a pit bull was reported in Hungry Horse.

There have been three reports in two days of people knocking on doors in the night, asking to use a phone.

Suspected child abuse was witnessed at a restaurant in Evergreen.

A report of a forged prescription is under investigation.
