Two Bigfork authors have had books published recently by PublishAmerica.

Bigfork author Don L. Clark's latest novel, "Commander AND Chief," a story of the nation's first Native American president, was released in August.

"Commander AND Chief" is a contemporary story of what might happen if a Native American Senator and former football hero stumbles into the presidency at the moment a television reporter discovers the deep dark secret in his past.

The new president, with no apparent political future, throws caution to the wind and sets out to do what he thinks the country needs rather than what might lead to his reelection or enhance the position of his party.

Clark is a former United States Air Force colonel who worked within the National Security Council system representing the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He has traveled and worked all around the globe, been an advisor to the National Security Council on numerous strategic international security issues, served as a military attach/ in the USSR and written weekly newspaper columns on International Affairs. He has lived in the Middle East, Asia and Europe, taught college courses on International Affairs, the U.S. Presidency, and the National Security State as well as written eight published novels, most of which deal with international concerns.

Clark's first novel, "Yala," was nominated for the prestigious Frankfurt International E-book award while another, "Sunday in Sudan" suggested an innovative way by which the United Nations might acquire its own international police force and relieve the United States of its burdensome role as the world's peace-maker. Clark taught and began the International Education office at Montana State University and has established a wide and respected reputation as a lecturer on both national and international issues.

The author's previously published works include "Magy la Magnifica," "Magy's Back," "Yala," "Sunday in Sudan," "Saving Kennedy," "Mission to Novgorod" and "The Kimura Kode."

Another Bigfork author, K.A. Walker recently had her memoir "Beaten by Nuns" released.

Based on a true story, "Beaten by Nuns" is the comically tragic account of the author's life, living with a mentally abusive Irish Catholic father. Walker finds out as an adult, at a job interview, that her father has a secret past. As a member of the Teamsters, her father knew Jimmy Hoffa, and possibly participated in other criminal activities throughout his life.

The book follows the author's life from childhood through college years, when forgiveness finally takes over to allow her new life to begin.
