A dazed-looking woman

| September 10, 2006 1:00 AM

A dazed-looking woman standing along the side of Whitefish Stage Road alarmed passersby. She didn't have shoes or a helmet and was standing next to a motorcycle. When she went for gas to fill her empty tank, someone called to let the Flathead County Sheriff's Department know she was very intoxicated.

Deputies couldn't find her, however. Nor did they find the driver who repeatedly held up a beer can as he passed another car. They did arrest a 19-year-old man for DUI, driving while suspended and criminal contempt. They also arrested a man who was driving 80 mph headed southbound into Kalispell on U.S. 93.

A woman asked the sheriff's office to help her contact her son in Iraq. It was an emergency - she needed to tell him the baby was born.

Threats abounded Friday and Saturday. Five or six people reportedly threatened a Hungry Horse man. Someone allegedly threatened to shoot a woman in the head and beat her with a bat if she went to Hungry Horse. Another woman worried that her friend's son was driving up the North Fork to kill his mother.

A man reportedly started yelling and swearing at the guy who prevented him from leaving the scene of an accident.

The three rounds fired on Lost Creek Drive early Saturday morning were aimed at a skunk. In Hungry Horse, someone shot the side of a fifth-wheel trailer. Kids were reportedly shooting paintballs at vehicles that drove by at Twin Acres.

A dog was reportedly stabbed and beaten and a generator stolen at a trailer park on Shady Lane. Deputies arrested a man there on a Montana Highway Patrol warrant.

Someone broke a light and three boards on a plastic fence at a house on Halfmoon Road. The homeowners have a suspect after finding a board bend in half in the neighbors' yard.
