Door-to-door scam?

| September 14, 2006 1:00 AM

Kalispell Police took reports about people going door-to-door, saying they are selling magazine subscriptions to pay for college.

None of them interviewed by officers is actually attending college. Police discourage residents from writing checks to "cash" as the sales people are asking customers to do.

A man was arrested at Finnegan's early Tuesday. He is accused of assaulting a woman on Ashley Drive and stealing a 1985 brown Honda in two separate events.

A CD player, camera, binoculars and other items were transported from an unlocked vehicle on Ninth Avenue West to places unknown. On College Avenue, someone walked away from a vehicle with a new rifle scope and Mag light. Wallets didn't stay in the vehicles where their owners left them.
