Word went out to school staffers on Friday that placements are finished for Glacier High, Flathead High, Laser School, the middle school and H.E. Robinson Vo-Ag Center.

On Tuesday night, that list went to the school board to keep trustees abreast of how administrators and the human resources director are aligning personnel for fall 2007, when Glacier High and the revamped middle school will open.

To make the assignments, school officials consulted a mix of input - results from the May 2006 survey in which staff indicated their preferences; curricular needs; teacher certification, expertise and background; balance of experienced to novice staff; leadership; extra- and co-curricular needs and employee fit within the school system.

Some 91 percent were placed according to their wishes, officials said.

Changes still could be made due to student enrollment, staff turnover or unforeseen circumstances.

Officials expect more transfers from Flathead to Glacier for the 2008-09 school year, the first year Glacier High will have a full four-grade enrollment.

If vacancies open up in teaching, director or coaching areas for the 2007-08 school year, they will be advertised in-house first before going to the public.

Below are assignments just for Flathead High School and Glacier High School:
