Krause, Denning help WHS finish 2nd

HELENA - Sam Krause missed out on medalist honors by a stroke and Derek Denning finished sixth to help Whitefish place second to Billings West at the Helena Invitational golf tournament on Friday.
Krause finished with a 141 two-day total, edged out by Tyson Bickford of Billings West, 140.
Denning's total was 147.
The WHS boys finished with a 600 total, 10 shots behind winner Billings West.
Flathead wound up seventh, 641. The Braves were playing without sophomore Larry Iverson, sprained wrist. Iverson has been a medalist in two major outings for FHS this fall.
After Thursday's opening-round play at Green Meadow Country Club, Whitefish was fourth and Flathead fifth.
The final round was held at Bill Roberts Golf Course.
Chelsea Ray of Whitefish earned top 10 honors in the girls tournament, shooting a 174 total for 36 holes.
The Whitefish girls finished fifth with a 749 total.
Billings West won the team title, 693, with Billings Senior second, 734.
Flathead finished 12th, 789.
The Bravettes were led by Emily Betthauser, 185.
